By using violetorigin.com or placing an order, you agree to these terms.

1. What we sell

Natural mineral specimens — principally amethyst from Artigas, Uruguay. Every piece is a unique natural object. The piece photographed is the piece you receive.

Weights and dimensions are measured. Grades are assigned by us against the published rubric on our FAQ and applied conservatively.

Natural variation is not a defect. Colour zoning, natural fractures, matrix, mineral inclusions and irregular form are inherent to these objects. We photograph them as they are so you can see exactly what you're getting.

Screens differ. We don't colour-correct photographs, but your monitor's calibration is outside our control.

2. Orders

Your order is an offer to buy. A contract forms when we send order confirmation. We may decline an order — most commonly because a piece sold moments earlier, we can't verify the payment or shipping address, or we can't ship to your destination. If we decline, you're refunded in full.

Prices are in US dollars and exclude shipping, duties and import taxes.

Despite our care, a listing may occasionally show a wrong price or specification. If the error is obvious and material we'll contact you before dispatch and you can confirm at the corrected price or cancel for a full refund.

3. Payment

Via Shopify Payments or PayPal. Payment is taken in full at checkout. We never see or store your card details.

Your bank may apply a foreign transaction fee. That's between you and them.

4. Shipping, title and risk

Shipping terms are in our Shipping policy, which forms part of these terms.

We ship DDU/DAP: import duties and taxes are payable by you as importer of record. Title and risk pass to you on delivery by the carrier.

Delivery estimates are estimates. We're not liable for delays caused by carriers, customs, weather or events outside our control.

5. Returns

14 days, per our Refund policy, which forms part of these terms. Nothing in these terms limits statutory consumer rights in your jurisdiction.

6. Trade and wholesale

Wholesale purchases are governed by these terms plus the specific terms quoted on your order and the Trade & Wholesale page. Where they conflict, the terms on your accepted order prevail.

Trade prices and line sheets are commercially confidential and provided for your own purchasing use.

7. The Amethyst Passport

Every piece ships with a passport recording its ID, weight, dimensions, grade and origin. It is our own record and representation — an assurance from us as supplier.

It is not an independent gemmological certificate and does not claim to be. We do not represent that it carries the authority of a third-party laboratory.

8. No metaphysical or health claims

Amethyst has a long association with wellness practices, and our customers value it for many reasons.

We make no claims that any specimen has healing, therapeutic, medical, psychological or spiritual effects, and nothing we sell is offered for any such purpose. Any statement of that kind found elsewhere is not ours and we don't adopt it. Nothing we sell is a medical device or a treatment for anything.

9. Your use of this site

Don't use the site unlawfully, don't attempt to breach its security, don't scrape it systematically, and don't use it to resell in a way that misrepresents the origin of the pieces.

All content — text, photographs, the Violet Origin name and marks — belongs to NewJoggy LLC. You may not reproduce it commercially without written permission.

Customers and stockists may use our product photographs to resell the specific pieces they have bought. That permission is granted here and doesn't need to be requested.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.

We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost profits, lost sales, or loss of opportunity.

Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including non-excludable consumer rights in the EU, UK and elsewhere.

11. Safety

Mineral specimens are heavy, and large ones can be dangerously heavy. Crystal points are sharp. Place specimens on stable, load-bearing surfaces, out of the reach of small children, and get help lifting anything substantial. You're responsible for safe handling and placement after delivery.

12. Force majeure

We're not liable for failure to perform due to events beyond our reasonable control — natural events, conflict, strikes, carrier or customs disruption, or failures of infrastructure or payment networks.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, United States, and the courts of that state have exclusive jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence, or of your right to bring proceedings there.

14. General

If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stands. Our not enforcing a term isn't a waiver of it. These terms plus the policies referenced are the entire agreement between us.

We may update these terms; the version in force is the one published when you order.
